This course provides an introductory study of sociology. Basic concepts and principles of sociology will be introduced. Students will explore the fundamentals of sociological analysis and learn how to apply them to solve real world problems. The course will mainly discuss topics including: methods of social research and investigation; science, culture, and religion; race and ethnicity; individuals in groups, socialization and education; stratification; economic and political systems; environmental crisis; social movements and revolutions.
