Description

This course provides a historical survey of art from the Renaissance to the contemporary period. Major monuments and artists during the period will be discussed. Students will study the sequential development, from the Renaissance to the modern period, of the major styles in architecture, sculpture, painting, graphic arts, and photography. Relationship of visual art to social and cultural trends will also be examined. Emphasis will be placed on the tendencies leading to modern developments.
